About East Harlem
| Our East Harlem
runs from 96th Street to 125th Street, between Park Avenue and Pleasant Avenue (First
Avenue below 114th Street). Over the past several years, East Harlem has undergone
tremendous changes. The City has spent over $1 Billion renovating all of the vacant
buildings and filling in all the vacant lots with three family houses. |
-One
of the many Beautiful Churches in East Harlem- |
| Because it
is in the Empowerment Zone, business has been moving into the area. On 125th Street there is
the new 50,000 square foot Pathmark center. At the old Washburn Wire Factory on 118th and
the Harlem River Drive, there will be a new Home Depot/Costco shopping center. Along Park Avenue,
there is La Marqueta under the EL as well as the Park Avenue Manufacturing Zone. There are
two hospitals in East Harlem; MT Sinai and Metropolitan and there are numerous schools and
churches. East Harlem is truly the next place to live in New York. |
